WLIA 20: Enter The Machine, Part 1

I begin a reading series covering an explanation of Albany’s political machine from the context of the life of Mayor Corning; who was mayor for 42 years amid a political organization that ruled the city for most of the last century and whose effects continue today. How strong those effects are is one of the questions I hope to answer, but this is just the beginning. In part 1 I cover an intro to the machine in Albany, The people involved in its development, how class representatives aligned around blood-sports and city government, and touch on the role of the secret society in any and all political organizing.
